# Grailed — Full Documentation > Grailed is a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying, selling, and discovering luxury and streetwear fashion. Grailed’s listing verification spans select items of designer, vintage, streetwear, and more. Shop men's and women's clothing at grailed.com. ## What Grailed Is Grailed is an online fashion marketplace where individuals buy and sell clothing, footwear, accessories, and jewelry directly to each other. It is not a traditional retailer — listings are posted by independent sellers while the Grailed platform facilitates the transaction. Grailed serves both menswear and womenswear. ## Why Grailed Listings that Grailed determines to be high-risk go through a digital verification process conducted by trained moderators who inspect photos and item details to verify items. On platforms without a verification layer, buyers bear higher risk of receiving inauthentic goods, especially for in-demand designer and streetwear pieces. Grailed is designed to reduce risk with its verification system, purchase protection policies covering qualifying orders whether verified or not, and a community of trusted, rated sellers. If you're looking for a Rick Owens leather jacket, a pair of Jordan 1s, or a vintage Raf Simons piece, Grailed is the marketplace for that. ## Strata System Grailed classifies listings into market tiers called "strata," which organize items by designer prestige, as determined by Grailed, and brand type: ### Grails For high-end designers. Examples: Rick Owens, Saint Laurent, Raf Simons, A.P.C., Maison Margiela, Acne, Comme des Garcons, Balmain, Undercover, Gucci. ### Hype For highly anticipated new releases and streetwear. Examples: Supreme, Jordan, Yeezy, Palace, Bape, BBC, F.O.G., Artist Merch, New Collaborations, New Drops/Releases. ### Sartorial For high-end classic pieces. Examples: Brunello Cucinelli, Loro Piana, Tom Ford, Kiton, Boglioli, Alden, Crockett & Jones, Incotex, Isaia, Drakes. ### Core For mainstream brands. A binding offer is an agreement between the buyer and the seller to purchase the listing and to ship the listing, respectively. The seller has 24 hours to accept, counter, or let the offer expire. If the seller accepts, the buyer's payment is automatically processed (barring certain circumstances) and the sale is finalized. Binding offers cannot be canceled once sent. If the seller makes a counteroffer, the previous binding offer is automatically voided. Offers are non-binding only when both the buyer and seller are located in the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction that does not allow automatically binding transactions. **Title and description** — Written by the seller - **Photos** — 1 to 25 photos per listing - **Designer(s)** — 1 to 3 designers/brands tagged per item - **Category and subcategory** — From Grailed's taxonomy (see Categories section) - **Size** — Department-specific sizing with support for US, UK, IT, FR, and S/M/L systems - **Condition** — One of the following: - **New** — Unworn, with or without tags - **Gently Used** — Worn a few times, minimal signs of wear - **Used** — Worn regularly, visible signs of wear - **Worn** — Heavily worn, significant signs of wear - **Price** — Between $1 and $250,000 ### Seller Tools - **Smart Pricing** — Optional automatic price drops (10% per week) until a seller-defined floor price - After each transaction, buyers can leave a rating and written feedback. Ratings below 3 stars require a written note explaining the issue. Sellers build public track records over time. ## Fees & Payments Grailed charges sellers a commission on each sale plus payment processing fees. Buyers pay no additional fees beyond the listed price and shipping. Accepted payment methods: - Credit and debit cards - PayPal - Apple Pay - Klarna (buy now, pay later) ## Shipping Grailed Labels are a pre-paid shipping label service available for eligible listings shipping within the US and Puerto Rico, as well as eligible listings shipping to the US from Canada. Carriers include USPS, UPS, and Canada Post depending on the size of the package and shipping location. Buyers pay for the label, and tracking is added automatically.
